Print this special “The Challenge Course” opened in August of 2008 and is a collection of 12 par-three holes that appeal to both the veteran player and the golfing newcomer. The designers, Pascusso and Pate, goal was to create a golf experience that would compliment The Old Course. A great place to get in a little more golf after you have played The Old Course, or when you are short on time and just want a taste of golf. The Challenge also has great appeal to novices who want to get comfortable with their game before taking on a regulation length course. |

"The Old Course" opened to the public on January 1st 2006 and was quickly regarded as one of the best courses in the state. GOLF Magazine recognized Monarch Dunes among the “Top 10 New Courses You Can Play” in its January 2007 issue. The Pascuzzo and Pate design was the only California-based course to make the magazine’s annual list, which features the 10 best new public-access courses that debuted in 2006. Most recently, Golf Digest ranked The Old Course third among"America’s Best New Courses” in their January 2008 issue, which features the 10 best new public-access courses with green fees under $75.
